Enter a keyword into the All Fields search box at the top of the page, for example, "global warming". Then click Search ScienceDirect, or hit enter on your keyboard. All of the articles that contain your search terms will be displayed below.
You will also see the number of results found your search, for example: 51,083 articles found for: ALL(global warming). This is too many articles to read, and many will be irrelevant. You can try narrowing down the results by using the various options in the left-hand column, such as topic or year.
If you recieve too few results, instead of too many, you may need to think of more general keywords or a broader topic.
When you find an article that you want to read, you can click on the article title to read an abstract or summary, or the "PDF" link for the full article.
A green icon next to an article means that the full text is available.
Tip: You can email one or more articles to yourself. Click on the title of the article. There is an option above the article to E-mail Article. Simply fill in the Sender's Name, Sender's Email, and Recipient's email (your name/your email address twice). To email more than one article, go back to your list of results. Check the little boxes to the left of each article that you want. Then find the E-mail Articles option at the top, and enter your email information.
