▷Abstract:

Hong Yoon-sik, former Minister of Government Administration and Home Affairs, gave a lecture titled "Direction and Strategy of Regional Development in the Age of Population Crisis". He proposed a plan to push ahead with new regional developments based on crises and problems stemming from the changing population structure faced during his term.

Currently, there is concern that the total population of the country will decrease in 2031, starting with the decrease of the productionable population from 2016.

Particularly in the provinces, population migration, aging of the aged population, and depopulation of agricultural, mountain and fishing villages are emerging as the population paradigm changes, and it is necessary to establish a new regional development strategy to secure this.

He also proposed the long-term and mid-term growth policies of the population paradigm that enhance the nation's growth potential and revitalize the local economy.
