Web resources of the KDI Central Library are protected by copyright, reasonable use for research and educational purposes is allowed. Therefore, the  KDI Central Library has established the policy for acceptable use of electronic information resources in order to protect the majority of users and to guarantee e-Resources services. We ask you to comply with this policy.

 

 Maximum downloading per day

      - 30 articles, from the same publisher, downloaded to the same PC or IP number.

 

 Criteria for defining abuse

    - Downloading the entire contents of a particular issue.

    - Systematic printing or downloading of e-resources within a short period of time.

    - Saving excessive amounts of e-resources beyond research boundaries

    - Using saved or printed material for commercial purposes

    - Downloading e-resources using another person’s ID of password.

    - Allowing off-campus access by careless management of personal or public servers.

 

Sanctions for violation of e-resources policy

    - Suspension of library privileges for a while and Violators shall pay fines requested by the publisher.

Copyright Policy for Electronic Reserves

 

1. The Library follows the principles of Fair Use when placing materials on reserve.

2. All use of materials placed on electronic reserves will be at the initiative of faculty solely for the non-commercial, educational use of students.

3. Materials to be copied or scanned for electronic reserves will be in legal possession by the library or the faculty member (by purchase, license, fair use, etc.)

4. Longer works, such as complete books or substantial portions of works, will not be copied for electronic reserve service without obtaining copyright permission.

5. There will be no charge for access. The charge for copies made by students will be limited to the nominal cost of photocopies or laser prints.

6. Copyright notice will appear on copies made of reserve readings and scanned file.

7. Access will be limited to the instructors and students registered for the course and will be available via the course reserve system only.

8. Electronic files will be removed from the reserve system when they are no longer used for reserve services.
